Prof. Marco Evangelos Biancolini, Associate Professor of Machine Design at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and founder of RBF Morph, will be delivering a keynote at the Symposium on Modelling and Engineering Simulation 2026, held at SUPSI – Campus EST in Lugano, Switzerland, on 10 February 2026.
His presentation, Geometry Intelligence and Fast RBF for Real-Time CAE Optimization, will explore advanced techniques for geometry parametrization and deformation using Radial Basis Functions. The talk will focus on how fast RBF algorithms enable real-time interaction between geometry modification, numerical simulation, and optimization workflows.
Attendees will learn how these methods support high-fidelity CAE processes by allowing continuous geometry updates without remeshing, significantly reducing computational overhead while maintaining numerical accuracy. The keynote will also cover integrated workflows for design space exploration, multidisciplinary optimization, and simulation-driven decision-making.
Practical examples will demonstrate the impact of real-time geometry intelligence on engineering design, including applications in Formula 3 aerodynamic development and CubeSat structural optimization, highlighting benefits across automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The symposium offers a valuable platform to engage with researchers and industry professionals shaping the future of modelling and simulation.
